My Approach
What To Expect From Me
I create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, memories, and behaviours at your own pace. Therapy is confidential, and as our relationship develops, you’ll feel more comfortable sharing openly, knowing you’ll be heard with warmth, acceptance, and without judgment.
I carefully listen to you whilst offering insights and suggesting various techniques to help you move forward whilst working at your pace. My style is to focus on what you need right now and accept who you are and what works for you rather than grasping for outcomes and solutions and talking about things that are wrong with you and how to fix this.
My approach is client-led and integrative, meaning we work together collaboratively, using techniques that suit you and your unique needs. I draw on ideas from working with parts of self, mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy, inner-child work, narrative therapy, and creative approaches, helping you understand yourself, manage difficult emotions, and make choices that align with your values.
The aim of our work is to help you uncover and release patterns or beliefs that may be holding you back, enabling greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and empowerment. Together, we’ll support your journey toward healing, growth, and living a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. We can bring new perspectives to how you view or feel about yourself and your life situation.
You might feel nervous or unsure about how therapy works, but my clients often comment on how quickly they feel at ease with my friendly, relatable style and the guidance I provide along the way.
Over time, therapy can help you to feel more grounded, more connected to yourself and able to navigate relationships and life’s challenges with more confidence. Most clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and significant improvement thereafter.
