Sessions and Cost
I offer therapy both in person in Sheffield and online. Starting therapy can feel nerve wracking and it’s good to have a friendly informal chat first to see if I’m the right fit for you. I offer a free no obligation 30-minute initial chat by phone or video call. This is an opportunity for you share in more detail your reasons for wanting therapy and to ask me any questions that you may have. This will help you to decide if you’d like to book your first session with me.
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and cost £50 each. Payments are made via BACS transfer at least 24 hours before your appointment to secure your booking.
Before your first session, I’ll send a copy of my counselling agreement for you to read. In our first session, we’ll go through it together, and I’ll answer any questions. I’ll also take the time to hear your story, your motivations for therapy, and your hopes for the future. There’s no pressure to continue beyond this point, and if you choose to proceed, we’ll arrange future sessions that work for you.
There’s no set timeline for how many sessions you have and this is entirely flexible with no pressure to decide straight away. I understand that long-term therapy can be a big commitment, both emotionally and financially. I’m happy to work with you in a way that suits your needs, whether that’s a one-off session to gain clarity on something specific, longer-term support or something in between. I often do review sessions to explore progress and alter goals as they are achieved. Everyone is unique and so the number of sessions needed for each client varies. Ideally, weekly session gain the most momentum, but I do fortnightly too because I believe that 2 sessions a month are better than none.
